In 2018, New Orleans will celebrate its Tricentennial. For those of us who are “of New Orleans,” by birth, as a new or part-time resident, or as a frequent or first-time visitor, we have all been touched by the special magic of a city that captivates our spirit and never lets us go.
I’m Dottie Belletto, founder and CEO of NOCCI. For more than thirty years, our destination management and event-marketing company has had the great opportunity to present New Orleans to the world. As we look forward, it gives me great pride to celebrate the 300th anniversary of my beloved city and to reflect on the beginning, the growth and the extraordinary cultural and economic impact of the tourism and hospitality industry.
A Message From Dottie
I began my career as a tourism and hospitality industry standards advocate and course instructor, participating in the development of the city’s first tour guide license standards and the first course manual for new tour guides. I knew then, as I know now, that we have a responsibility to share with visitors and residents an informed and accurate story of this remarkable city.
To honor New Orleans’ 300-year milestone and to pay homage to the importance of presenting an informed, authentic, entertaining, historically accurate and always dynamic New Orleans, I am pleased to introduce NOLA Tricentennial Tours, an affiliate of NOCCI.
Welcome to NOLA Tricentennial News. Leading up to and throughout the city’s tricentennial, we will present personalities, tour specialists, unique blog commentary and information that informs, entertains and connects you to New Orleans.
I look forward to this exciting time, as we prepare and look forward to the tricentennial and the opportunity to present the best of New Orleans to the world.
