Michael had a lengthy career in book publishing. As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Random House, he was sent to New Orleans for the first time in 1983 and to work with author Anne Rice. By day two, he knew he was “home” and came to the city once or twice a year thereafter. Later, running William Morrow as their Publisher, his company was acquired by Rupert Murdoch and merged into HarperCollins. This allowed Michael to finally move to New Orleans. He is never leaving. In addition to giving tours of New Orleans, Michael has written five books about his adopted city; EAT DAT, HEAR DAT, FEAR DAT, ALL DAT, and 111 PLACES IN NEW ORLEANS YOU MUST NOT MISS.
